Just by strolling around Senzokuike, you can find one unique shop after another. It's nice to have a leisurely meal inside the restaurant, but it's also nice to get some takeout food and enjoy a picnic or home party at Senzokuike. So, we decided to go around the shops that offer takeout at Senzokuike!
The Tokyu Ikegami Line's "Senzokuike" station has only one entrance, making it a convenient meeting place. After meeting up with my friends, we left the station and headed to the shopping street behind us on the right. We immediately set off in search of takeout food.
The first place we visited was "Pizzeria da Granza Senzokuike Branch." This restaurant has a great atmosphere just from the outside, but it actually has an amazing pizza chef!
In front of the store, there are a variety of takeaway pizzas and Italian side dishes. The side dishes, such as "Italian Hamburg Steak with Two Appetizers" (2 yen) and "Tuna, Shirasu, Broccoli, and Mushroom Penne in Tomato Sauce" (750 yen), are all packed to the brim and look delicious!
If you have the exact amount in cash, you can put the money into a small box and make your purchase yourself. This analog system adds to the warm atmosphere of the shopping street.
There are many trophies that will surely interest anyone who visits the restaurant. The biggest trophy among them is the one that the owner, Mr. Sakamoto, won at the Pizza World Cup held in Rome in October 2023.
(The owner, Mr. Sakamoto, is third from the left)
Sakamoto-san isn't always at the storefront, but on this day he was there specially, making pizza with the hands of the world's best craftsman!
He skillfully stretches out the dough and arranges the ingredients. And before you know it, it's time to put the pizza in the oven. It was really cool to see him manipulate the fire and the pizza with his serious gaze and speedy dexterity!
On this day, I ordered the "Campione" (3,630 yen) made with snow crab and golden tomato sauce. The snow crab, glazed with shrimp oil, looked amazing!
It's delicious as is, but adding soy sauce takes it to the next level!
At first I was surprised, thinking "soy sauce on pizza?", but it's the perfect mix of Japanese and Western cuisine.
Not only was the crab delicious, but the thin crust was also fragrant, thanks to the lack of cheese! This pizza has a light yet luxurious taste.
Another popular dish is the specialty "Bismarck" (2,420 yen), a popular menu item that has appeared on television twice.
In addition to the items on display in the store, most of the menu items are available for takeout. If you call in advance, you can collect your order smoothly with less waiting time.
I'm so happy to be able to easily take out pizza that is packed with the essence of the world's best artisan pizza!

Returning to the direction of "Senzokuike" station, I walked through a slightly exciting path under the railway tracks and arrived at "Takoyaki Fuefuki". The owner, Mr. Igo, greeted me outside the shop at the perfect time, and I was warmed by his cheerful smile.
"Takoyaki Fuefuki" is a takoyaki shop that has been loved for 11 years in Senzokuike after relocating from Ebisu. Outside the shop, there are many menus and event flyers posted, and the amount of information is overwhelming...!
Inside the store, there were many more books, magazines, comics, and flyers. The number of materials donated by customers keeps increasing, and customers use them to gather information, so it functions almost like an information exchange center for the local area. In addition to information from magazines and flyers, Igo-san also had a lot to say about Ota Ward and the Senzokuike area, and I was surprised at the breadth of his coverage, from history to culture.
As we were chatting, I suddenly remembered that I wanted to get some takoyaki takeout. I ordered a few popular dishes. The best thing about them is that they cook the takoyaki after you order.
The sight of the yellow batter, made with a generous amount of egg, soaking up the batter was a feast for the eyes! The delicious aroma of the batter baking in the air whetted my appetite even more.
While we were waiting for the food to be cooked, I was impressed by Mr. Igo's friendly service spirit as he chatted with us. When we pointed our camera at him, he even struck a charming pose.
In addition to the classic octopus-filled "takoyaki," there are also plenty of other variations, such as plump shrimp "ebiyaki," hand-shredded sausages "sausage yaki," and thick-sliced bacon "bacon yaki." In addition to sauces and mayonnaise, they can also be enjoyed with wasabi soy sauce and ketchup mayonnaise, making them unique. If you order them as takeout, they're perfect as an appetizer for adults or a snack for children, and there's sure to be a favorite dish for everyone.
<When eating in the restaurant, orders can be made in units of three>
The two takeaways that left the biggest impression on me were the "Sausage Yaki" (1 yen for 6 pieces) and the "Bacon Yaki" (450 yen for 6 pieces). During the Ebisu era, many foreign customers did not usually eat octopus, so they came up with the idea to serve takoyaki with ingredients other than octopus. When I learned that the fluffy takoyaki with large ingredients that look like they are spilling out of the takoyaki were born from the owner's thoughtfulness and communication with his customers, it felt even more delicious.
Once you try the fluffy takoyaki with its wide variety of ingredients, you will never forget it. It's the kind of takoyaki you'll want to take out and tell everyone about.

The last place we visited was Kushirou, a yakitori restaurant in the Senzokuike shopping arcade. The stylish lanterns on the monochrome exterior catch our eye, and the interior is chic and stylish.
"Kushirou" was opened by the owner, Mr. Nakajima, 11 years ago. With many years of experience in the food and beverage industry, Mr. Nakajima proudly serves yakitori made with Daisendori, a brand of chicken from Tottori Prefecture. As the yakitori is skewered in the store, you can enjoy extremely fresh yakitori!
Yakitori, which can be ordered by phone from a single skewer, is perfect as a main dish for dinner or as a side dish. If you can't decide, we recommend choosing the recommended "1-skewer set" (6 yen) or "960-skewer set" (12 yen), which also includes vegetable skewers.
The sight of Nakajima-san grilling the skewers over the charcoal fire is just that of a true craftsman. His large back moves the skewers in small movements, raising expectations as he carefully grills the meat.
The yakitori, drenched in a secret sauce that has been added to since the chef's training days, is juicy and delicious! When you take a bite of the chicken thigh, you can feel the freshness of the chicken from its firm texture and tenderness.
Negima is not only juicy, but also has perfectly grilled onions, with the natural sweetness of the onions and the savory aroma of the grilled onions being irresistible. The refreshing sauce brings out the flavor of the ingredients, and combined with the savory aroma of charcoal grilling, it's an exquisite yakitori.
You can order freshly grilled yakitori, or take out the yakitori displayed in the display case at the front of the store. Once you've experienced how delicious this is, you'll never want to pass by the store again!

In the Senzokuike area, we found many restaurants that offer delicious takeaway food. Senzokuike Park, a short walk from Senzokuike Station, has tables and chairs.
There is a rest area called Senzokuike Park, so we recommend eating your takeout items there.
If you are interested in Senzokuike Pond, be sure to also read the article "Take a stroll around Senzokuike Pond! A relaxed solo activity."
One of the attractions is the freshly cooked taste that can only be enjoyed by eating in, but if you take it out, you can enjoy authentic cuisine at home or share it with everyone at a picnic or home party, and there are many more ways to enjoy it.
The Senzokuike Pond introduced this time is part of an area called "Maisen." The name is made up of the initials of Magome, Ikegami, and Senzokuike Pond, and these areas have long been popular scenic spots in Ota Ward. If you have the opportunity to visit Senzokuike Pond, be sure to also visit Magome and Ikegami.
