Unearthing and Reinterpreting Local Art: A Selection of Works from the Ota City Collection

The memories of this town are brought back to life as paintings.

Ota City Magome Art Gallery opened on February 1, 2026. It is a new hub for storing and exhibiting artworks from the ward's collection and shedding light on the region's cultural resources.
The opening exhibition, "Unearthing and Reinterpreting Local Art," introduces paintings associated with Ota Ward that were created from the Showa to Heisei eras. Tracing the footsteps of the artists and the background of their creations, the exhibition reexamines the local history and art from a modern perspective. Enjoy a new encounter with the artworks in this place that carries on the memories of Magome Writers' Village.
